Iron Gate

Project Description

Working in collaboration Neighborhood Restaurant Group and Catherine Hailey, GrizForm Design Architects refreshed the historic Iron Gate. Until its renovation, the Iron Gate was the District’s oldest continuously operating restaurant. The project team worked to maintain the property's history, while infusing it with modern touches. The original carriageway now houses the bar and a year-round dining space, while the courtyard features overhung grapevines and a century-old wisteria. The team also incorporated gas lanterns and custom light fixtures to restore the restaurant back to its original glory.
