BonChon
Project Description
GrizForm Design Architects drew inspiration from minimalist Asian architecture when designing BonChon for a new, young neighborhood in Northern Virginia. The team kept the palette simple and clean, allowing the curved wall installation to be the dominate feature in the space while allowing flexibility to host large parties, after work happy hours, date nights, and dinners to go. To accomplish this, the space was divided into three areas: a dining room, with plenty of flexible seating and cozy nooks, a large bar area with communal high tops and a separate pick up area with its own room and counter for takeout.
The design team kept the interior branding of the restaurant subtle, introducing a pop of deep red that references the franchise’s red Korean logo. Additionally, Asian motifs are referenced throughout, like the geometric back bar with laser cut metal screens, the straight lined, thin profiled banquettes and the lantern like pendants.
